Wished I were still in Mexico being a Beach Bum. Stumbled on to this song. Kind of like this one.

Willy and the Computer

Willy done knows that the computer is a mighty tool...when it works. Willy done knows that when it doesn't work it may be good for an anchor off the edge of the fishing boat. Well, you might figure out that Willy has had computer problems this past week.
Friday night the thing works well. Runs fast.. runs smooth. No problems. Willy shuts the blame thing off and goes to bed. Willy gets up Saturday morning and the thing wont come on. Willy done thinks the cheap power supply that HP put in this thing is done gone out.
Well, Willy moves it to the side and cranks up the old standby. Willy is lucky to have an old standby. For you see about a year ago the old standby was the main thing. However, it went out and Willy decided it was "dead in the water" and Willy went out and bought him a new one. Just for fun though, Willy took it to a local computer fix it man and $75 and it was back up and running.
Well, Willy moved it to the side and kept the new one because it was bigger and better and faster and now it is deader. But it is now at "Mr. Fixit" and maybe with a little tender loving care and about $75 more it can be running again.
If it don't I might take it down to Juanita at the Possum Grit Cantina and Bar and see if she can fix it. She knows a little about everything. I know because she told me so.
Till then Willy hobbles a long with the old stand by. Guess there is a lesson in this somewhere. Anybody know what it is.
Later

Dear Old Texas - Yeah!
Willy says some days he longs for returning to Texas. Ran into this old song. Maybe this should be Willy's theme song.

Willy going to take up Golf!
Willy done believes there is something wrong. Willy hunts good, is a good fisherman, takes care of the little lady, but Willy don't make as much money as someone who chases a little white ball around the pasture.

Brooks & Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe
Willy done likes country music. Willy thinks its great when a couple of good ole country boys like Brooks and Dunn come out with a cd with part of Willy's name.
They are saying that with 'Hillbilly Deluxe,' Brooks & Dunn continue their strong honky tonk heritage. It is an album full of good country music, the kind you find in the local country bar. The album is solid and one that any country fan would enjoy in their collection.

Slow Down - This ain't No NASCAR Race!
I took on this blogger identity of Hillbilly-Willy because I moved from a place in Texas where life seemed to be fast paced and hectic to a place in the Hill Country of Arkansas where there seemed to be many people with a different lifestyle.
There were things that seemed to be unique to what I called the Hillbilly lifestyle (call it what you will). Those things were:
You move at a slower pace - move out of my way Willy - I got to get somewhere was not something that you heard often - after you get off of the interstate.
You talk more about fishing & hunting - Did you go fishing yesterday? Did you see that big buck that LeRoys kid killed over in the holler.
Family seems to be more important - is that yo're sister Willy - Yea! She ain't much of a wife though (just a joke)
Cars and racing are a way of life- Willy-did ya see that Nascar race yesterday? Yea - but I still miss ole number 3 being on the track. You think your 43 Willis Jeep can beat my 51 Ford Pickup? Maybe - but I got the engine hanging in the tree in the front yard - I'll get er back in next week and we'll try.
Your home is definetly your castle- Willy- you got a long neck beer with you? Yea -just a minute - let me go into the double wide and see if it has brewed yet.
You grow your substance - Willy- you got anything growing in your garden - Yea- but it aint ready to smoke yet- Let me show you - Be sure and step around that smelly stuff cooking there - it aint ready yet either. Hope it dont blow up my house.
All kidding a side. The above is what a lot what people think. However, most of us get so caught up in our busy lifestyle that all we do is go to work - go home - and do it all over again tomorrow.
Maybe we need to slow down and fish a little more. Go hunting in the spring and be more concerned about being in the wild than getting the wild things that we think we have to own.
Maybe there are things more important than a new car - a large house - a nice watch. Hang on Willy - maybe we need to slow down a little and make life more fun.
Just a repeat of What Willy Thinks
Thats all for now.

Panhandle Poet
Willy had a good visit last week when his nephew and wife came through town on their way to Nashville. Nephew, who can do a little of anything, he works hard by day but also has a lot of talent to throw at you the rest of the time. Thought he might just stay in Nashville and sing. But no, he just did his job and went back to Texas. On his visit here, Willy showed Nephew how Willy spends spare time just messing around with this blog thing. Well, hot dog holler. He done went back and started his own blog as Panhandle Poet. Check him out. You might find that his wanderings, and wonderings might be interesting. Go figure - two Aggies - a hillbilly and a poet out there blogging on the Internet.

Compliments - What I think!
Willy says that on Hillbilly Please web site - they was all wrapped up in the idea of compliments. Well -Here is what Willy Thinks! 10-4 Willy
Compliments are some times a dime a dozen.
In the hills - Hillbilly Country - Willy gets paranoid and wonders what do they want from me. Then next in my mind I hear dueling banjos and wonder what are they going to take from me!
---Shut your brain up Willy ----
They were just saying thank you. -
Come on now get back to business. Find another good hill country recipe. Or find out what is going on in the political world. Heard a good joke lately?

Speaking Republican or Democrat
Willy says - why cant they just speak redneck. Lets jest go in there and knock out those suckers and let it be done. This will take care of all civil unrest. This way we dont have to worry if it is Civil War - Unrest or just plain out a mess. 10-4 Willy
Below is taken from Slate.com
How To Speak Republican …… or Democratic.By Jack ShaferPosted Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at 7:02 PM ET
In recent weeks, major U.S. news organizations have started using the phrase "civil war" to describe the unpleasantness in Iraq, prompting a brawl between liberal and conservative commentators.
Speaking on the left, Eric Boehlert derides the press for only now calling the mayhem a civil war. Boehlert accuses various organizations, which include NBC News, the New York Times, the Miami Herald, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Los Angeles Times, of accommodating President Bush by keeping the phrase out of their coverage for three-plus years. The administration abhors the phrase, preferring "sectarian violence."

Walmart- loves Gays -
It just aint right! Cant even depend on Walmart to support the Rednecks. Do you think they would be interested in supporting a Larry the Cable family reunion. They probably wont be any gays there but it might be likely that some guy may be running around drunk looking for his sister that he married.
Think about that one for a minute - 10-4 Willy

N.J. high court opens door to gay marriage
TRENTON, N.J. - New Jersey’s highest court opened the door Wednesday to making the state the second in the nation to allow gay marriage, ruling that lawmakers must offer homosexuals either marriage or something like it, such as civil unions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above is the headlines and the first paragraph of a MSNBC news article.
All I can say is -What is this world coming to. We are heading so far away from this country's roots of a Christian Nation that it is amazing. In the Ozarks- out here in Hillbilly country we would talk about this type of thing and mention banjo's playing and asking if they can squeel like a pig. I think some of these lawmakers need to here the Banjos picking and see if they can't get this country back on the straight and narrow.
Maybe we need a little more Dixie Flag flying and more "SOUTHERN HOSPITALTY" to some of these yankee law makers.
Hillbilly-Willy -says - LETS GO GET EM.
