Obama takes Credit only After Success

Willy finds it interesting that President Obama distanced himself from the Pirate situation until such time as a successful rescue of the Captain took place.

Then Obama White House talks about how Obama was the strength behind the decision to take on this mission.

Willy wonders - Would President Obama have taken the same credit if the mission had failed.

To Gpartha - Check the time line. Willy is not criticizing - Willy is commenting on a fact.

"Would President Obama have taken the same credit if the mission had failed."

Do you mean like proclaiming "Mission Accomplished"?

Personally, I've always liked Teddy Roosevelt's approach of speaking quietly and carrying a big stick.

I'm glad that President Obama spoke quietly before wielding a large stick.

Interesting, Willy!

I've always figured that for a person to get credit OR blame, he/she needs only to remain silent. Others will speak up to pat on the back or point fingers.
